The Family Support & Reunification Program at First Step Recovery Homes, Inc. aims to stabilize family units by fostering healthy interactions and providing educational resources. Utilizing a family assessment tool, the program identifies and intervenes in issues affecting children and youth. Through education, tailored referrals, and goal setting, the program supports children and assists parents in breaking harmful family cycles. This includes focusing on the male family figure who, due to substance addictions, has lost touch with his family, faced homelessness, possible repeated incarcerations, and is currently engaged in one of First Step Recovery Homes, Inc.'s bridge housing programs.
